Alpha Course
For anyone who isn't on our mailing list, I'll post here for your viewing pleasure. Along with Genesis Church in Poznan we're starting a 14-week (or so) project called the "Alpha Course."
The idea of the materials (developed through the Anglican Church and used widely by Catholics and Protestants in our region) is to introduce people to the fundamentals/basics of Christianity.
Questions like:
• Who is Jesus?
• Why did Jesus die?
• What is the Bible?
• And others about prayer, the Holy Spirit, faith, etc.
The material, although at times quite charismatic, is really good. Of course anything that can bring people together in a setting where the Gospel can be introduced in a relevant, personal way is great.
So, tonight at 7pm (our time) we'll be hosting around 20 people at our place (yeah, going to be tight). There will be food...an introductory video...more food...small group time to talk about the video...and hopefully some more food. So, if you're in the neighborhood stop by...it'll be a blast!!

I just saw this at 8:35, so I probably won't have time to get over there, even though it sounds like I would be in time for at least the last round of food.
Looking forward to hearing how this material and your efforts over the next few weeks work. Praying for you.
There were certainly several round of food...I think the next one will be around noon today when we continue to try to polish off the IKEA meatballs (man, those things are good!).
The material is really good...quite practical which seemed to really connect with people (even though it was a Brit who had a Polish lektor speaking over him). We'll see how the continuing "episodes" go and how people continue to respond.
The best part was the discussions after the "wyklad". People were really getting into and opening up about their experiences in the typical Polish church. Of course the great thing about this is that I don't have to say hardly anything (a big plus when it's all in Polish!!). When they are presented with Truth people are able to evaluate their past experiences based on that truth and can come to figure out for themselves whether or not their previous ideas/philosophies/etc are on target or not.
