Weekend

We've had a pretty good weekend...thought I'd share (why else have a blog, right?). Baseball went really well yesterday. This week has been pretty much a wash since everyone's on vacation. So, our group was a little smaller...around 15 kiddos. But they were still able to practice and develop their skills a little further. We found out that there's another mini-tournament on June 2nd. So, we're all looking forward to that, hoping to take a bunch of the kids so they can experience some real ball playing.

We also got the chance to talk to a few "strangers" about the coming next week. I noticed two little kids come over to watch the girls practicing and decided to go talk to them when our break started. They were ecstatic to hold an actual baseball...let alone to throw it (they actually just tossed it as far as they could a couple of times and had to run to retrieve the balls...very cute). As I was talking to the kids their dad came over and asked me about what was going on. After explaining a bit of who we were he was pretty excited about his kids coming back next Saturday to join in. Vicki got to talk to the other new couple who said they had some relatives who would probably be interested. It's pretty awesome how baseball has that draw. We just need to continue to work to ensure that we're ministering to these families...not just playing ball with their kids!

We found out this morning that our pastor's brother was in a car accident this past week...his car actually flipped. But, thank you Lord, he and the other person in the car weren't injured in the slightest. When the car came to a stop they mentioned how there was a song playing (one he'd written actually) about God's grace over us! Can you imagine them basically hanging upside down laughing about this as those words played out??!! It truly is amazing grace!!

Today has been great....pretty much a lazy day as illustrated by our eldest (pictured above), Cosmo Kramer. I'm really into black-and-whites these days and really like how that shot turned out. He's got to be the best dog out there...but don't get me started on his brother (haha)!!
